RHINO CAPTURE EXPERIENCE
Source: Moditure
Rhino Conservation
Moditure has a unique arrangement with the Klaserie Private Nature reserve to assist with Rhino Conservation. These Rhino captures are very limited. The KPNR is a hidden treasure- 60,000 hectares of absolutely game packed pristine lowveld savannah. It is part of the Kruger National Park since the fences were removed 10 years ago.
There is little or no ecotourism in the Reserve, thus revealing an unspoilt piece of ‘heaven on earth’ bordering the Olifants River and Timbavati Reserve. The Reserve, as with the Kruger Park, has huge conservation needs, amongst which is Rhino preservation. The reserve needs sponsors to tag and mark the Rhino population (micro-chipping, ear-notching etc.). This is a very costly exercise. As Moditure Group, we are supporting this initiative to bring groups and secure sponsors to achieve the worthy goal. It becomes a win-win - teams being developed, and having a lifetime experience while making a difference to nature, and conservation of this incredible animal.
The KPNR is situated near Hoedspruit, near to the Orpen gate of the Kruger. Eastgate airport, a one hour flight from Johannesburg is minutes away. If one drives, the route takes one through Dullstroom and beautiful scenery towards Hoedspruit. Guests will stay at the Nzumba Camp in the Klaserie. It is comparable to any 5 Star Lodge. Alternative accommodation options are also available.
